Author Visits: Schools

Public schools in the San Antonio metro area:

  • No fee. Instead, please use your author visit budget to give every child who will attend my talk(s) a copy of my book (whichever is age-appropriate), regardless of their family’s ability to pay for it.

Private and parochial schools in the San Antonio metro area:

  • $300 for one author session
  • $450 for a half day of presentations (up to 2 presentations)
  • $700 for a full day of presentations (up to 4 presentations)

In-state schools in Texas (note: schools more than 120 miles from San Antonio will require travel costs):

  • $500 for one author session, plus travel costs
  • $650 for a half day of presentations (up to 2 presentations), plus travel costs
  • $900 for a full day of presentations (up to 4 presentations), plus travel costs

Out-of-state

  • $1,300 for a full day of presentations, plus travel and hotel costs. Up to two schools in close proximity (no more than 20 miles from each other) can share the cost of a visit.

Other

  • $3,500 weekly school rate (up to five hours a day), plus travel and hotel costs

 

Writing Intensives: Schools

Public and private schools in the San Antonio metro area:

  • $500 for a half day of intensives (up to 3 hours of instruction)
  • $850 for a full day of intensives (up to 6 hours of instruction)

In-state schools in Texas (note: schools more than 120 miles from San Antonio will rewuire travel costs):

  • $750 for a half day of intensives (up to 3 hours of instruction), plus travel costs
  • $1,100 for a full day of intensives (up to 6 hours of instruction), plus travel costs.

Out-of-state

  • $1,800 for a full day of intensives (up to 6 hours of instruction), plus travel and hotel costs. Up to two schools in close proximity (no more than 20 miles from each other) can share the cost of a visit.

 

Author Visits: Festivals, Conferences, Writers Centers

  • Per session (max 1 hour): $400
  • Half day (max 3 hours): $700
  • Whole day (max 6 hours): $1,100
  • Keynotes (does not include online): $1,300
  • Weekend rate (max 2 days, average 6 hours/day): $2,000
  • Weekly rate: (max 5 days, average 6 hours/day): $4,500
  • Writing intensive: $650 for a half day; $1,100 for a whole day

 

Online

  • $300 for one author session (max 1 hour)
  • $450 for a half day of presentations (up to 3 hours)
  • $700 for a full day of presentations (up to 6 hours)

 

Readings

I am available to do readings of my work, for a maximum of 30 minutes.
Single session: $250

 

Panel member participant

Per session: $200 (max 1 hour), plus cost of hotel and travel
-$150 for each additional hour

 

Cancellation fee

In the event of a late cancellation by the host (less than 45 days before the event), the host will be required to pay a cancellation fee. See contract for details.
